Acerca de Daryl Hall

As one-half of legendary blue-eyed soul hitmakers Hall & Oates, Daryl Hall became the voice behind some of the most iconic pop hits of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Blending R&B, soul, and new wave influences to fabulous effect, classics like "Maneater" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" established Hall as one of the best voices of his generation, as beloved for his pipes as for his catchy songwriting. Hall sounds as fresh today as he did 30 years ago, eliciting collective swoons from audiences on his 2013 tour dates with John Oates. With an induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame scheduled in 2014, the boys are in peak form, treating audiences around the US to a string of highly anticipated concerts leading up to the April ceremony.

After meeting at Philadelphia's Temple University in the late '60s, Daryl Hall and John Oates left their respective bands and joined forces as a duo, releasing Whole Oats, their first record as Hall & Oates, in 1972. Following relatively minor success in the '70s, the band hit their stride in the ‘80s, pulling off one of the most impressive chart runs of the decade with a string of No. 1’s that included "Kiss on My List," “Maneater,” and “Out of Touch.” After collaborating with Robert Fripp in the late ‘70s, Hall made his solo debut with 1980’s Fripp-produced Sacred Songs, a moderate success in comparison to his work with John Oates. Over the years, Hall released several more solo albums while continuing to record and perform with John Oates. Named the No. 1 duo of all time by Billboard Magazine, Hall & Oates will make their much-deserved entry into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
