Acerca de Jaime Camil
As the son of a famous Brazilian singer Cecilia Saldanha Da Gama, performing is in heartthrob Jaime Camil’s blood. Camil got his start in entertainment on the small screen, hosting several popular television shows in Mexico and other Latin American countries. However, his first successful foray into music came in 1999, when he released his first album, Para Estar Contigo, and subsequently toured in major cities in Mexico, South America and the U.S. Camil is often likened to other Latin American heartthrobs, like Ricky Martin, and his concerts draw a mix of audience members who are dazzled by his good looks and and awed by his stunning vocal prowess. Camil’s most recent full-length studio record, Vol. 3, was released by Sony BMG in 2008, and he had a chance to show off his hand at music production on it.
Camil was already well known across Latin America and Mexico when he released his first album in 1999. His appearances in theater and television shows helped him gain the notoriety that was necessary to help him attract record producers and publishers and land a recording deal. The real ticket to his musical fame was his voice, which is stellar enough that it landed him roles in high-profile musicals, including the Broadway production of Latinologues. Camil’s stellar voicals payed off on his 2002 single, "Muriendo Por Ti," which reached the No. 36 spot on the Hot Latin Tracks chart. That same year, his single "Dime" peaked at the No. 17 spot on the Hot Latin Tracks chart. When it comes to entertainment, Camil arguably has the full package, with good looks, years of experience and unrivaled vocal talent to boot. With his wide range of talent, it will be no surprise to see him onstage and on screen for years to come.
