Nora En Pure In Concert
The South African-born, Swiss-raised producer Nora En Pure — aka Daniela Niederer, born in 1990 — made her mark on electronic music with a richly textured, enveloping take on deep house. Grounded in hypnotic, bass-heavy grooves and plush synths, it's forceful enough for late-night dance floors, yet dreamy enough for home listening.
Nora En Pure began recording in 2010, just a couple of years after her first encounter with electronic music technology. Early releases like her Velvet EP find her sound fully formed, with rolling sub-bass underpinning deeply colored synths and glinting hints of voice.
After a few years of experimenting with elements of disco, tech house, and funky house, she made her breakthrough in the form of 2013's "Come With Me." Coinciding with a renaissance of feel-good melodic house, its gentle vocal refrain and reassuring keys eventually earned the song more than 40 million plays on Spotify and another 20 million on YouTube. It confirmed her arrival as one of house music's major talents and paved her way for multiple releases on the powerhouse European label Spinnin' Deep.
Her next major successes came with 2016's tropically tinged "On the Beach" and 2017's even more melodic "Tears in Your Eyes," which wed the subtle vocal processing of future house to bittersweet strings and piano. She helmed the BBC Essential Mix in 2016, dropping tracks from EDX, Roísín Murphy, and Lane 8, along with a half-dozen of her own tracks or edits.
In 2017, she was the only woman programmed at Tomorrowland's Mainstage Daybreak Session. That year saw her touring heavily, including a packed roster at Miami Music Week and bookings at Las Vegas' Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub, Electric Forest Festival, and Coachella. At the beginning of 2018, she announced one of her biggest career milestones yet, launching Purified, her weekly radio show on SiriusXM's Chill channel.
