Acerca de Owen Pallett

Canadian chamber pop wunderkind and Oscar-nominated composer Owen Pallett continues to pioneer new sonic and emotional territory with his intricate, ambitious, and constantly evolving music.  In 2014 Pallett released his fourth full-length album In Conflict to universal acclaim, supporting the release with a stunning series of shows that fully validated the legendary reputation he enjoys as a performer. Whether he's layering his violin with a loop pedal or busting out a solo on the organ, Pallett never fails to dazzle on his unforgettable tours.

Ontario-born Owen Pallett began studying classical violin at age three, and by age 13 he was composing his own music. While studying composition at the University of Toronto he wrote two operas and scored numerous films and video games, honing the impressive orchestration skills that would inform his later work. Pallett made his chamber pop debut as Final Fantasy in 2005 with the album Has a Good Home, a hit with critics for its creative instrumentation and intricate song structures. He followed up in 2006 with He Poos Clouds, an instrumental album of string quartet arrangements that earned him Canada's prestigious Polaris Music Prize. Pallett has toured and recorded with a veritable who's who of contemporary music including Arcade Fire, Duran Duran, and Taylor Swift, and he was nominated for an Oscar for his score contributions to Spike Jonze's acclaimed 2013 film Her. Following the 2014 release of his fourth studio album In Conflict, Pallett once again thrilled ticket buyers around the world with another series of tour de force performances.
